Wake up Zander! It's time for me to ride!

What's in store for rides this year?  Plenty!  Training  has started.  Due to the lousy economy, I am now free to ride 7 days a week.  No cross country trip this year, however, I have high hopes of aiming for a trip in 2010.

I ride by bike in support of the Rocky Mountain Stroke Association.  In June of 2006 my sister suffered a severe stroke.  RMSA has been very supportive to her quest to improve her  lifestyle and help her regain back her independence and confidence.  This association helps stroke victims after regular health insurance coverage runs out.

Please help me raise funds for this organization by offering a contribution through the link on this page or please mail a check today to the association.  Please reference Zandercat, so we can keep track of my fundraising.  Thank you for your support to the association and to my personal quest.  Mary Kay   The is no deadline to make a donation.  It can be done at any time.

New Hobby-Velodrome Indoor Cycling

Guess I needed something else to do since I am not working.  Hmm what would that be?  How about indoor cycling at the Velodrome in Boulder.  Great idea!  All I can say is, "What a rush!"  When I arrived you can hear the bikes going round the track and I wondered "What the heck am I doing here?"  Next I know, it's time for my lesson, so I went for it.  I was soooo scared and nervous.  After our coach Chuck took us through the basics, we went!  Really people, just trying to get the bike going without brakes, no back pedal, no gears was a challenge.  We hugged the lower rail a few laps then it was our turn to get on the track.  Holy moley!  All I can say is after your first few laps I came off the track, once I was able to stop...and I was SHAKING!!!!  WOW!  Can't wait to go again next week.  Check out the photos.
